The Southern Baptist Convention Elects Its First African American President

Today, the Southern Baptist Convention elected its first African American President, Fred Luter. I wasn’t there, but I felt like a fly on the wall via twitter. I came across a string of live tweets broadcasting the moment in real time. It was beautiful and poetic to watch, in some twitter sort of way. I’ve reproduced the stream of tweets I saw here. This is modern history told in 140 characters at a time.
